SIKA Primer-215 - Primer for Porous Substrates and Plastics - 250ml
Description:
Sika® Primer-215 is a transparent, slightly yellowish, low-viscosity, moisture-reactive primer for the pre-treatment of various plastics, wood, and other porous substrates that will be bonded with Sikaflex® products.
Sika® Primer-215 is produced according to the quality assurance system ISO 9001 / 14001 and the Responsible Care program.
Applications:
Sika® Primer-215 is a pre-treatment agent for the following substrates: Plastics such as GRP (UP or EP resins), PVC, ABS, and wood. Due to the variety of plastic formulations, preliminary tests are necessary. Not suitable for stress-crack-prone plastics like PMMA/PC.
This product is only suitable for experienced users. To ensure adhesion and material compatibility, preliminary tests must be conducted with original materials under the respective conditions.
Application:
Substrates must be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.
Adhesion can be improved by additional pre-treatment steps such as sanding, cleaning, and activation.
Wipe the bonding surfaces with Sika® Activator-205 and allow to flash off. Apply Sika® Primer-215 evenly and thinly but opaquely using a brush, felt, or foam applicator.
Apply the primer only once.
Ensure that the layer is even and opaque.
The ideal application temperature is 15 °C – 25 °C.
Consumption and application method depend on the substrates and manufacturing processes.
After use, immediately close the container tightly again.
Important Note:
Sika® Primer-215 reacts with moisture. To maintain the quality of the primer, close the can immediately after each use with the inner plastic lid. After the pre-treatment is complete, close the can with the screw cap. After the first opening, the primer should be used within approximately one month if used regularly.
If the can is opened infrequently, the primer should be used within 2 months.
Do not use primer that has gelled, is not homogeneous, or shows increased viscosity.
Do not dilute or mix the primer with other substances.
