DOWSIL™ 786 Silicone Sealant is a one-part, acetoxy-cure silicone rubber sealant for nonporous surfaces, showers, tubs, sinks and plumbing fixtures. It contains an antimicrobial and has been tested against a spectrum of microbes.

How to use

Consult Dow Construction Americas Technical Manual (No. 62-1112) for joint design and application methods.
Surface prep: substrates must be sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, frost and soap residue.
Wipe with a clean rag saturated with isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirits; ensure good ventilation when using solvents.
Primers: usually not required on ceramic, glass and glazed surfaces; for metals/Formica/plastics use DOWSIL™ 1200 OS Primer if needed. Always test adhesion/compatibility on the specific substrate.

Product description

DOWSIL™ 786 is a single-component, ready-to-use silicone rubber sealant that adheres to porcelain, cultured marble, painted areas and glass without primer in many cases. Once cured, it is mildew resistant and suitable for high humidity and temperature extremes. Available in white, translucent white, almond, clear and gray. Compatibility should be evaluated for each application prior to use.

Processing Instructions

Apply directly from cartridge – ready to use
Application with manual, pneumatic or electric guns (e.g., 310 ml dispensing gun)
Use of suitable nozzles recommended (e.g., standard nozzle)
Cures at room temperature in the presence of humidity
